We are an incredible team
of eye care specialists!

We are excited about what we do and work hard to help our patients everyday! Meet the team at Kamloops Vision Therapy Optometry.

Dr. Tamsyn Sitler, O.D., FCOVD

OPTOMETRIST

I have had an interest in how the eyes work together since my own struggles with binocular vision made reading more difficult when I was in high school. My interest in vision therapy was renewed in optometry school, and two years after graduating I began the journey of additional learning to better assess and manage those with binocular vision disorders. My passion for helping my patients with the option of vision therapy grows every day and I am always learning more to continue helping my patients!

Originally from Ontario, I received my Bachelors of Science from University of Waterloo in 2007, followed by my Doctor of Optometry Degree from the University of Waterloo in 2011. I completed my Fellowship with the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (FCOVD) in 2021. I have also completed the Optometric Extension Program Core Clinical Curriculum, (Optometric Extension Program Foundation, OEPF), as well as the PAVE-Sanet Seminar Series.  I am a member in good standing with the following: Vision Therapy Canada (VTC), College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD), Optometric Extension program (OEP), Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA), British Columbia Doctors of Optometry (BCDO).

I have been living and working as an optometrist in Kamloops since 2011, and opened Kamloops Vision Therapy Optometry in April 2019. Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my husband and son. You can also often find me at running events around Kamloops, or reading a book somewhere with a coffee in my hand. Kamloops has been my home for over ten years now and I am proud to live here and I am so happy to be able to serve those in Kamloops and the Thompson Valley!

Jordan Spencer, PVT

PRACTICAL VISION THERAPIST

Jordan grew up in Nelson, surrounded by family members in the optometric industry. She moved to Kamloops when she was starting high school, where she attended Valleyview Secondary. She then began a degree in theatre, but realized that it wasn’t the right path for her. While on the search for a new career, she met Dr. Sitler, and began the journey to becoming a Vision Therapist.  In the summer of 2021 she completed the Practical Vision Therapy Accreditation Program (PVTAP) through Vision Therapy Canada (VTC). She is passionate about providing the best care for patients, and helping to improve their lives by helping them to improve their vision.

Outside of work, Jordan enjoys spending time with her friends, and making endless crafts with her daughter!

Andrew Pullen, PVT

PRACTICAL VISION THERAPIST

After getting experience in the optical industry, Andrew wanted to turn his focus to therapy and helping others. He enjoys working with Dr. Sitler and the of the team. He is going through the Practical Vision Therapy Accreditation Program (PVTAP) accreditation process and learning more every day! It fulfils him to have a job helping others use their inherent skills to meet their fullest potential.

Outside of work, he enjoys deep conversation and long walks on the beach.

Kathleen Grant

RECEPTIONIST

Kathleen grew up in Sorrento on the shore of beautiful Shuswap Lake. After graduating high school she moved to Vancouver and spent many years working for the Vancouver Public Library. After 20 years in the Fraser Valley, the rain finally drove her to Kamloops, along with her daughter and their cat. After making salsa and selling cookies, she was lucky enough to start working for Dr. Sitler and her new office. Being part of a team that helps so many people, children and adults alike, is the most satisfying job she has ever had! Outside of work, she enjoys reading, a good cup of coffee and lots of walks!
