Community
Call us old-fashioned, but we believe in the power of knowing our clients by name. We cherish contributing to this community and making a positive impact on our patients’ lives.
Results
If you’re as passionate about results as we are, you’ll agree that subjective positive changes are just as important as data. It’s all about seeing and feeling improvements in daily living and well-being.

Meet Dr. Tamsyn Sitler O.D., FOVDRA
Founder, Kamloops Vision Therapy Optometry
“Our goal is to improve lives by improving vision.”
Dr. Tamsyn Sitler’s interest in how the eyes work together began during her own struggles with binocular vision in high school. As an avid reader, she found herself feeling unusually tired and even falling asleep while reading. Although her vision was fine, her eyes were not working well together, making reading more difficult than it should have been. This personal experience led her to complete a 10-week online vision therapy program, which significantly improved her eye coordination and ignited her passion for understanding binocular vision.
Accreditations
During optometry school in Ontario, Dr. Sitler renewed her interest in vision therapy. Two years after graduating, she embarked on additional learning to better assess and manage patients with binocular vision disorders. She has honed her skills and knowledge with accreditations and member in good standing from:
- Optometric Extension Program Core Clinical Curriculum
- Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF) and
- PAVE-Sanet Seminar Series
- Vision Therapy Canada (VTC)
- Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association (OVDRA)
- Optometric Extension Program (OEP)
- Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA), and
- British Columbia Doctors of Optometry (BCDO)
And in 2021, her dedication to the profession culminated in earning a Fellowship with the Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association (OVDRA).
Involvement with these organizations ensures that she brings the latest insights and techniques to her growing practice.

Life in the BC Interior
Since moving to Kamloops in 2011, Dr. Sitler has brought vitality to the local community. In April 2019, she founded Kamloops Vision Therapy Optometry, realizing her vision of a practice that not only addresses patients’ immediate vision needs but also enhances their overall quality of life through personalized vision therapy programs. Her approach is rooted in the belief that subjective positive changes are just as important as measurable data, ensuring that patients see and feel the difference in their daily lives.
Outside of her professional life, you can find her competing in local running events, enjoying a good book with a coffee in hand, or exploring the Thompson Valley with her husband and son. Calling Kamloops home for over a decade, she takes immense pride in serving the residents of Kamloops, the Thompson Valley, and the BC Interior, helping them achieve clearer vision and better lives.
